It is recommended that the Google Custom Search box at the top of this page be used for searching the standards hosted on this site (listed below). This provides far superior results in less time.
Click on the Library tab in the search results rather than using the All tab. This allows navigation to nearby pages, whereas the All tab may return only a single page pdf, which does not
allow nearby page navigation. The benefit searching standards on this site is that they have been parsed into individual pages, thus allowing quick access to specific pages with
relevant content.
The demoted tool below searches inside reliability standards (and related documents) providing quick access to specific pages containing the search words. Complete documents and their status (active or canceled) can be obtained from DoD Assist Quick Search (red arrows below). If the documment exists in DoD Assist Documents, then the complete document can be downloaded by clicking on the red arrow.
Outputting the results using the "pdf links only" option may be useful for mobile device browsers. Only lemmatized words of three characters or
more were indexed. Numbers are indexed separately; therefore, if searching for references to say MIL-HDBK-217F, simply put 217 in the search box, not 217F or MIL-HDBK-217F. Click the red arrow to download or
check the status of the document on the assist web site. Click the "toc" link to see the document table of contents.
